Even a BIM-led project still touches AutoCAD — supplier details, 2D markups, legacy drawings, GA sheets that never made it into the model. The CAD Programmer Toolkit is our sister site's AutoCAD add-in: a ribbon of small, well-behaved commands that remove the repetitive clicks on that side of the workflow, bundled into one installer with a genuinely usable trial.
CAD Programmer Toolkit
A ribbon-based command set for AutoCAD — free everyday utilities plus trial-gated Pro commands, in a single installer. No account needed to install.

The Toolkit installs a CAD Programmer ribbon tab for AutoCAD 2021–2026 (and BricsCAD-compatible builds). Commands are grouped into five areas:
- Annotation & drafting —
AUTO_DIMPro auto-places linear, diametric and radial dims around a selection;MATCH_CONTENTFree copies just the wording between text/mtext/dims. - Blocks —
GET_SURFACE_AREA/GET_VOLUME/COUNT_BLOCKSPro recurse through nested inserts for takeoffs;AMEND_ATTRIBUTES,RESCALE_TITLEBLOCKPro. - Selection & geometry —
EXPRESS_SELECT,GET_CENTRE,INSCRIBE_RECTFree;TOTAL_LENGTHPro. - Editing utilities —
FLATTEN_Z,FILLET_0,OFFSET2CURRENT,FIX_DRAW_ORDER,CHANGE2CURRENT_LAYERFree;BATCH_FIND_REPLACE,INFO_TO_CSV,IMPORT_EXCELPro. - File & workspace maintenance —
REDUCE_FILE_SIZE,ZOOM_EXTENDS_ALL,COPY_BASE_0,CLOSE_OTHER_TABSFree.
Free vs Pro
Commands marked Free always run, unrestricted. Commands marked Pro each get their own trial pool — 10 runs per day, per command — so you can trial each on real work before buying a key.
IMPORT_EXCEL and INFO_TO_CSV are the same round-trip idea BIM teams use with Revit schedules — get data out of the drawing into a spreadsheet, or push a spreadsheet's data back into the drawing — just on the AutoCAD side. If your model-to-sheet workflow crosses into AutoCAD, these close a gap.
The Toolkit and Custom Automation
The Toolkit is the productised version of bespoke CAD automation work — and several of its commands started as one-off client scripts. If your team needs something it doesn't cover, whether on the AutoCAD or the Revit side, that's a custom build on the same foundation.
